Potain Cranes

Potain Cranes

During the year 1928 within La Clayette, France, the company Potain was established. Ever since then, Potain has been the world leader in tower crane production. They are responsible for more than 100,000 cranes installed and sold all over the world. Currently, the company manufacturers more than 60 models from various manufacturing facilities inside France, China, Germany, Italy and Portugal. The business represents many different product ranges designed for various applications. These equipments are sold through an international Manitowoc dealer network.

The Potain family makes 3 different tower crane families. The self-erecting cranes are the smallest kinds in the Potain range. These cranes vary from 1 ton to 7.98 ton capacity. The next size up is the top-slewing cranes that are larger and higher. These cranes vary from 7.98 to 64 tons. Furthermore, these are the largest custom-designed special application cranes. These units offer a reach capacity of one hundred sixty tons.

Several of the main innovations with the company consist of the LLC series of hoists, the Vision Cab and the Dialog control system. The company's growing reputation has expanded their appeal with various models. Potain cranes are usually found on conventional construction sites, bridge building projects, power stations, shipbuilding yards and ship-building projects.

Manitowoc has 2 of their biggest manufacturing facilities in the United States. The Manitowoc manufacturing facility is situated in Wisconsin. In this state, both the tower crane parts and crawler cranes are made within Pennsylvania inside the Shady Grove plant. Here both boom trucks and mobile cranes are manufactured. Regional offices are situated in Brazil and within Mexico. Moreover, the extensive dealer network found throughout the USA and Kentucky offers coverage and support unrivalled by any other crane manufacturer.

Manitowoc has dominated the lifting market within North America for over 50 years. They have built their solid reputation with a combination of outstanding service and support and quality products. The popular names of Grove, National Crane and Manitowoc have been top members of their market sectors in Kentucky, Latin and South America and USA.
