Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads with these machines. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
