Inventor Jerome Case founded the business of CASE in Racine, when he began the construction of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the first maker of steam engines for its agricultural use. In time, the business grew to become the largest producers of steam engines within the globe.
By 1912, Case had become established within the construction equipment industry. The quickly began to manufacture road building equipment such as graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction equipment company through different acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation during 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the leading manufacturer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland during 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for marketing some of the leading brands of agricultural and construction equipment in the world.
