Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources which could power forklifts. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
So as to avoid potentially serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
